My three-and-a-half year old son loves Thomas and Friends and we have slowly been adding the wooden trains to his collection. He loves this series because they work really well with our table set, Nicely painted, quality wooden trains, exceeded my expectations for FP brand products.Noticed a few tiny chipped spots on some of the edges of the trains after about two weeks of play. Overall, it seems like they are going to hold up to hours and hours of train track play. They are absolutely loved by kids who are huge fans of Thomas and Friends.Stephen is an attractive Engine that makes a great addition to a train play set, it is one of the kids favorites!Wish that they were a little more affordable but sometimes you have to pay for quality, these will be the type of toys that can be handed down for another child to enjoy and love all the same.If I notice any significant issues in the long run with quality, I will add to this post, but so far I feel like they are going to be solid. Is it okay to harshly grade a Thomas toy?Problem #1 (and this is a big one) please note this engine is longer than most of the Thomas trains, due to having those larger front wheels. This makes the tight turns unmanageable without forcing or picking up the engine. That's a bummer! It will work just fine with the wider turns, however.Problem #2 is much more ticky-tack: in the show, Stephen has a tender with his coal. In this toy, it's just part of the main engine. This also makes the toy longer, as mentioned above. In addition to that, the piston looks awkward -- as though it's a free-floating mechanism attached to the boiler, rather than a piston for the wheel. Not sure they could've avoided this, but it just doesn't look right. All in all, be careful before you buy this particular engine. Unless you're a fan of Stephen in general, you might want to opt for a different one.How lovely is his Steven train. My sons face was beaming with such joy, he had one which he lost or I lost, and this replacement came as an old friend to his train collection. It goes with him everywhere, even to bed. A well made item, which really takes a lot of use! And the detail is really awesome. I think , as does my son, that this is the handsomest rain in the series.Such fast shipping to, thank ou for bring the enormous smile to our sons' face. so sorry I did not catch it on film!If you're buying wooden Thomas trains I'm sure you know what you're getting into, haha. If not...these are wooden trains. They are remarkably durable but over time you can expect to see some dents in the wood as well as fading or chips in the paint. Just the way it is.Also, wooden trains and wooden train tracks are usually all compatible with one another, so you don't specifically need the wooden Thomas tracks for this toy.The only thing I didn't like about this is Stephen's signature smokestack is changed so the sizing is uniform for the tracks (going under bridges and whatnot). I get it, but I still don't like it.My 23 month old absolutely loves his new train. We're slowly acquiring all of the Thomas trains and this one stands out with his unique design. He's really durable and is sure to withstand my toddler's rough play. Like all of the Thomas trains, the only con is the price. But my son plays with his train table and trains more than any other toy, so I feel the price is worth the enjoyment. This was purchased as a gift for my newphew who loves playing with trains. Stephen was one of the few trains that he didn't have, so he was very excited to play with it as soon as it was given to him.The piece is well made and has a lot of detail. It is a lot of fun to play with and works well with the wooden tracks. A great addition to any set!Adorable little yellow Thomas Train is named Stephen. Just a bit smaller than I expected. Length of train measures only three and three-quarters inches.Like a lot of small boys and girls my 4 year old grandson loves Thomas the Tank Engine and all his many friends. As a doting gran I would not like to see him disappointed on Christmas morning if Stephen was not in his stocking. Can,t wait to see his little smiley face. This was bought to run on my sons old wooden train track....he's 33! My grandson loves it when he comes to see us. It's well made, great for little hands and glides beautifully. Grandpa loves it too!Rather expensive but loved my my two year old grandson. I suppose it is very well made and a brilliant addition to his railway set. A perfect present as we live in the village where George Stephenson of Rocket fame was born.Good quality but they should make it clear that although this will fit a wooden brio/biggigs track the train itself is at least 50% plasticLovely, lots of railway fun. I wish he had a carriage that people could sit in, but we bough the horse and cart extra and now Stephen pulls the cart so tourists can see the sites.
